Reference to Orchard Home, a lodging place, is made in a Sept. 4, 1913, newspaper article. Proprietor was Mrs. Nelson Warner.

Another reference is made in the Ashtabula Beacon-Record of July 27, 1907. Listed are the folks who were staying there.

“B .F. Wade and wife; Howard Strong and wife; B.I. Carey, Miss Anna Carey, Cleveland; Dr. Edward Bollinger, Sioux City, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. H.L Melton, Cleveland. This is the seventeenth summer for Mr. and Mrs. Melton at Orchard Home.”
