Oakmont, The

Also known as The Homestead, the Oakmont belonged to Truman Warner, the brother of Nelson Warner, who was the son of Reuben Warner, the original Warner settler in Geneva Township. The Homestead, as its name suggests, was the original Warner home.

The Oakmont name was attached to The Homestead in the 1940s. The Homestead started out as a log cabin and was where Nelson Warner was born.

Truman Warner’s son, Bert, built the Eagle Cliff; his daughter, Meda, ran the Homestead as a tourist home for many years.
